East Celt Reserves ended a 2 year drought by winning the Brisbane Shield in
style against Harps. Easts were in front from the start with Mark Morris leading
the way up front with 2 goals and 4 points. Our back line can be proud of their
efforts in which they dictated terms for a majority of the match. Loic and Marc
(in goals) had standout games in defense, with Adrian as consistent as ever in not
letting his man get into the game.
Credit must be given to Harps who staged a come back in the second half, but
thanks to the steady play of Nathan, David & Dov, Jay's hard attacking football
and the ever reliable Buddha who stepped up a gear stopping any resurgence by
Harps.
A number of the team was playing two games (9) so the bench was constantly
used throughout the night. All players contributed to a great win for the club
and can be full of pride in the way they represented Easts Celts Gaelic Football Club.
